When it comes to admission or changing the college/school, the only thing which arises in our minds is about the hectic admission procedures and the risk of taking original documents to the institute. The institute in turn goes through its own tedious process of manually verifying the documents, its hectic registration process, and not to forget the big store for maintaining the old sheet of certificates.
Even if a single important certificate is lost or misplaced by the management or the student himself/herself, the cost of reapplying the documents and the effort in obtaining the documents is a huge challenge today. At TroonDx, we believe in devising a strategy to make the process better and more efficient; and devise a solution to make the system more digital and affluent to its users.
In this article, we are going to look at the solutions for the above-listed problems using blockchain. This concept of blockchain can also be used in various aspects in the field of education such as verification of credit records, verification of student's course completion details and file transfer system among the college.

Let's look at these problems:
1.Registering in a college
Let’s consider an ecosystem containing the government, schools, colleges, corporates and also the banks. All these would be interlinked through a network of blockchain. By achieving this ecosystem life becomes simple. The certificates which we have to maintain from our birth to death can be maintained securely and the verification of documents can be easily accomplished.
In the beginning, the government offers Aadhaar card to all the citizens which act as the proof of our nationality. This card should be submitted in all places such as schools, colleges and banks. As the government is also a member of the ecosystem, the details of the Aadhaar card are verified. By the usage of blockchain, the footprints of the documents are reduced. Proofs such as birth certificate, community certificate, mark sheets and transfer certificates are needed for school and colleges at the time of joining or during the course of changing them. All these documents can be produced easily when all are connected in the same blockchain network.
This network of blockchain can be used further beyond schools and college, it can be used in corporates and banks too. By adapting to this process, it reduces lots of frauds and forgery. The coporates can get verified certificates of studies and proofs such as Aadhaar, using the system of blockchain. This process, it consumes less time and labor. It further benefits a lot of the banks for their KYC ( Know your customer) process. After the banks easily obtain the KYC, it would be easy for them to approve loans and it will also reduce the account creation time and helps reduce the access footprints of our documents as the verified transactions are already present in the network.

Let's take a look at a scenario to understand this better -
1- The government issues IDs such as Aadhaar, Community Certificate and Birth Certificate which are stored in the wallet of the holder.
The Government has its own identity schema and provides information to fill in accordingly.These data are cryptographically secured and digitally signed. The transfer of documents can be done securely to the holders account through the private network using blockchain which is future in a secure wallet of a particular holder.
2- The use of a verified Government ID to request the issuance of a College Transcript.
When there is a need to submit Government documents during the time of admission in the colleges, not the whole documents can be shared. Only the required information such as the address,age and the name alone can be shared to the college instead of the whole documents. By following this system it reduces footprints of our documents being circulated and also it reduces the possibilities of personal information getting exposed.
3- The use of College Transcript to apply and request issuance of Employment
4- Issue a new account upon verification of the KYC process using education and employment credentials.

2. Student's course completion details and credit points
Let’s see through the difficulties which students face through while they happen to change college. The student has to request the college for his personal documents produced at the time of joining, handle those documents carefully until he/she produces them to another college. It also takes a lot of time in the verification process. Let’s discuss solutions for all the above-listed problems.
Let's consider an ecosystem where it consists of all the colleges which have agreed upon to a smart contract, which helps them interconnect and ensure all the data/events are transparent amidst colleges. By creating this ecosystem, it enables us to get transferred from one college to another with ease. With the help of the created ecosystem, the documents produced to the college at the beginning are stored safely and securely. When the colleges are interconnected through the network of blockchain it becomes easy for us as well as the college for transferring the students. The documents of the students can directly be sent to other colleges through the blockchain network which reduces us the risk of carrying the documents while travelling, it also prevents us from misplacing it.
Not only the documents can be transferred with the help of blockchain but also the course details and the credits points obtained in the previous college can also be transferred directly. By this process, a huge burden on the students is reduced and at no data loss.
3. Transfer of files and documents to the students through IPFS
This revolutionizing concept is also known as the “future internet” acts as a means to store and retrieve student documents such as research work (thesis), any media or other IP related documents.When the transfer of documents through blockchain is required, assuming all colleges are interlinked and come under an ecosystem. The large files such as documents produced in the college at the time of joining or during a student’s research can be easily transferred. Let’s see how this transaction takes place.
Each document and all of the block within it are given a unique fingerprint called the cryptographic hash. The IPFS removes duplications across the network.Each network node contains only content it is interested in and other information which helps us figure who is storing what.When the files are being looked up, the network finds nodes storing the content behind a unique hash. All the file can be found by human-readable names using a decentralized naming system called IPNS.
